Atelier Theatre Studio is gearing up for a new production of Snow White, a family show to be opened early 2017, in our first solo production since we did The Lesson and The Chairs by Ionesco (we have been working with Pericles Theatre in between - watch out for more performances of The Tailor of Gloucester at the Forest Row Festival, 25 September).
We’ve just had a wonderful week with a star Romanian choreographer, Malina Andrei, working with the cast and now we are going to build on that work by running a two-day deep introduction to the Linklater approach - a way of liberating the natural voice rather than adopting a specific vocal technique.
Ben Joiner is one of the small but growing number of Designated Linklater Teachers worldwide ie taught by Kristin Linklater directly and approved by her - www.linklatervoice.com will tell you more about Kristin Linklater and her now legendary voice work.
Ben is an inspirational teacher and this workshop will be tremendous fun, stimulating, and the beginning of allowing your own natural voice out (it usually takes you by surprise) If you are interested in studying with Kristin on Orkney, this weekend is a brilliant and affordable way to dip a toe - or rather a whole foot - into the Linklater “Freeing the Natural Voice” before making a larger commitment.
Any age, or any background, and regardless of whether you have had any form of performance training or not, this is a really special two days. There are only 6 places available as the rest will be taken by the Snow White cast - if there is a strong takeup we will schedule another for later in the year.
