The Atelier has a wide range of creative partners, who take different roles at different times. We are joined at present by an incredible choreographer from Romania, Malina Andrei, who works extensively in Romania (including the National Opera in Bucharest), the National Theatre of Finland, Barka Theatre Budapest, Serbia, Hungary, France (including Theatre Toursky in Marseille) and is working with our cast and crew on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and on What Shall We Do With The Cello? A strong music element in many of our productions is brought by one of the founders of The Flying Pickets who also happens to be a terrific actor and composer (David Brett), plus a dazzling Royal Academy trained violinist who plays in key orchestras (such as for Jools Holland, as one example) and who also plays a mean accordion (Anna Cooper). Organisational flair is for different projects is provided by two formidable women, one a former producer for Jerry Springer the Opera (Amber Styles), and the other the former Executive Producer of Wiltons Music Hall and the Isango Ensemble touring company (Flora Smith), and for the first few performances of What Shall We do with the Cello? we were joined by the equally formidable Cristina Catalina, independent producer and actor. What Shall We Do With The Cello? also involves sought after chamber musician Nick Allen, who plays The Man with the Cello (Modulus Quartet, Bergersen Quartet, Welsh Chamber Orchestra, Birmingham Opera Company). We are delighted to work with the Sica Alexandrescu Theatre in Brasov, Romania where we brought our production of What Shall We Do With the Cello? in November 2017. A deep inspiration on the director for "What Shall We Do With the Cello?" is provided by composer Iancu Dumitrescu and his late wife Ana-Maria Avram, to whom the Brasov performances were dedicated.
